Got leads? Post it! Feeling empowered? Join the cause!

I don't have a real clear system yet, but for now, post tips/leads in the comments section. If you want to use Facebook, go to the following group: El Sobrante Neighborhood Watch 2.0 and post video, images, and information. If you want to use Twitter, go here.

I'll go on my own time to build alliances with neighbors and local businesses. You can help the cause by pointing people to this site and contributing information, pictures, and videos. Most people nowadays have camera phones, and anything can help. Just provide the date and time it was taken, and we'll put it up on this site.

This will work if we all contribute. Vigilance and knowledge are great weapons against those who do bad things in our town and elsewhere. I was told that there was a case in Concord, and police weren't able to do anything, so the victims posted their surveillance videos on YouTube, and the citizens locked in on the suspect, resulting in an arrest.

Vandalism/Theft 07-27-09 2:23:00 am

448 Valley View Road
El Sobrante, CA 94803
July 27, 2009
2:20:00-2:24:00am

A white male late 20s or early-mid 30s was caught on tape disabling and stealing security cameras on private property.

If anyone has any information, please send email to info@thebamboochopstick.com

In the first image, the vandal is on the roof of the property right before disabling and stealing the security dome camera.

Afterwards he jumps down from the roof and heads towards the camera, notices it, then bolts the other way.

He makes a pass at the camera and fails the first time, but turns the camera down. He then jumps for it again, ripping it off and disabling it.

This is the guy on the roof.

This is the guy jumping down.

This is the guy ripping off another camera.

New organization

Hello fellow El Sobrante residents, business owners, and those from neighboring areas,

With the economic situation, and problems with the state budget, it has become important for us as residents and business owners to chip in and help law enforcement as much as possible to keep our homes, businesses, and streets safe.

It's my hope that through this site, people can anonymously post observations, images, and video to help law enforcement pinpoint and catch these guys terrorizing the town. With a little bit of work from everybody, we can make El Sobrante a secure place to live and do business, and set an example for other towns and neighborhoods to follow. We all work hard for what we have. Let's all chip in a little to keep it safe. For every bad guy we help catch, it means one less threat the community has to live with.
